I'm not a fan of short stories. To many writers can not get enough in to make a real story to invest my time. Jana can. Oh without a doubt this could have been fleshed out to make a sit on the edge of your seat mystery. But this has a definite start, middle and end and you sure don't see till the end who is the villain. You may figure out the plot, you may figure toward the end the who but it won't be confirmed till last pages. This is another good read by Jana.Product details

A well written short story that could be described as a page turner. A very enjoyable read without undesirable language which is a rare find these days.
Jana DeLeon was able to pack a lot of intrigue into a short story! I really enjoyed the heroine, Lexie, a sophomore in college whose plans for a Christmas in Cancun goes up in smoke when her wealthy Great-Aunt Sophie needs her help. I don't like telling too much, so I'll just say that I enjoyed some hot chocolate and a short Christmas who-done-it. Love the title!
I usually do not read short stories but I thought I would try this since it was Christmas themed. I love trying to unravel Jana's mysteries and this one had a surprising twist in the end. Plenty of laugh out loud moments throughout, as well. Great little read!
A college student gives up a holiday trip to appease her mother and help her great aunt find her missing maid. Only there isn't just one missing maid, there are eight of them. This is a short story, but I wish it was a full length book. It really draws the reader in and leaves you wanting more. If these characters aren't in one of the author's series, they need to be. Thoroughly enjoyed it, which is what I expected from Jana DeLeon. She hasn't disappointed me yet. Thanks, Jana, for a great story.
Nineteen-year-old college student Lexie has a problem. In order to keep getting financial aid from her great-aunt Sophia she had to humor her and help with the older woman's investigation into several missing maids who were integral to the preparation for the holiday season on New Orleans. This is a cute story for a quick stress-busting read at any time of the year. Jana DeLeon writes wonderful stories that involve the ladies of the South. I can always count on quirky humor as a bonus to the plot.
